This was me about 13 years ago. I worked abroad in various locations for about 9 years, and 4 of them were spent working on a Cruise Ship. I visited and saw some of the most wonderful and amazing sights, and had a camera in my hand at every opportunity. I was obsessed with taking photos and making lasting memories. However, my camera was firmly stuck in Auto mode. So many dials and settings on the camera, and everything seemed too complicated. So I opted to stick with Auto mode. Sometimes I got lucky, and the camera did a good job of determining the settings, but often I would be left disappointed. From the exposure being wrong, to the camera choosing a shutter speed that was too slow and producing blurry photos, or the focus point shifting and not focusing on what I wanted it to.
But I loved taking photos. So much so that I decided to go back to College full time in 2010 and study Photography; graduating in 2013 with a 1st Class BA degree with Honours. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but also one of the best and most rewarding things I've done, as I am able to earn a living doing something I love, and I'm now in a position to teach photography myself.
So I've been there, right where you are now; disappointed and frustrated with the photos that you see on the screen on the back of the camera.
I am offering photography tuition; for anyone that wants to learn how to get out of Auto mode, and start taking photos and making memories that you are proud of.
There is no need to commit to a number of weekly sessions, just book me as and when you feel you need a bit of help and guidance, or have mastered what you learnt in a previous session, and want to progress further. Each session is individual and tailor-made to you, and will be delivered at a pace that you are happy with for maximum benefit.
Lessons will take place at a location agreed by, and convenient to us both, more than likely in a local park, so we can go for a wander with the camera.
